Cathy Kert Interior Designer Cape Cod Boston

Meet Cathy Kert

Cathy was born in Burlington, VT and grew up in southern NH.  Her father was an engineer and built the house she grew up in.  Her family enjoyed a period of time when they had a small farm and grew all of their own food.  Her mother was a gifted quilter.  This nurtured Cathy’s love for gardening, nature, textiles and reading.  Cathy earned her B.S. at Northeastern University in l985 in physical therapy…she also spent innumerable hours exploring the museums and the architecture of Boston.  Cathy then accepted a wonderful job offer in Los Angeles and worked for 7 years as a physical therapist.  She enjoyed doing home health care and had the opportunity to explore the different architectural styles of Los Angeles:  mid century modern, bungalows, coastal, apartment and grand estate living…she then began taking interior design courses at Santa Monica Community College.   After starting their family, Cathy and her husband returned to Nashua, NH.  Cathy designed and built their 4200 square foot custom home with her father in 1990 and enjoyed raising four children there as well as creating beautiful perennial gardens.  Cathy mentored with two interior designers for her training, as well as taking many classes through the Boston Design Center and ASID.  She now enjoys being an allied member of ASID.

Cathy uses her background in physical therapy by combining her communication skills with her knowledge of function, body mechanics and how the body works to supplement her interior design skills.  This unique combination allows Cathy to achieve spaces for her clients that are both beautiful and functional and are created to work and enhance your personal lifestyle for years to come.  Helping people is Cathy’s passion and CKI allows her to fulfill this passion.

Cathy and her husband recently relocated from New Hampshire to Cape Cod after completing a renovation on their 1893 farmhouse and two story barn. Cathy Kert Interiors continues to service Boston, Southern NH, and is quickly expanding into the Cape Cod market.
